Petit Paradis Breton
A blissful haven on the water's edge
Entre terre et mer
Between land and sea
A heavenly cottage on the shore of a small cove in Brittany where the river Rance meets the sea. Nestled in an apple orchard and woodland, within 30 minutes of over a dozen spectacular beaches and the historic towns of St Malo, Dinan and Dinard. At the heart of cycling routes and on the legendary 'Sentier des Douaniers' coastal trail. A family home for generations that we'll be letting out for a limited number of weeks starting this year.
The world is your lobster
You can easily drift through your stay without ever leaving the cove, swimming, paddle boarding, long lunches on the lawn in the shade of the olive trees, watching the boats sail past from the luxury of the hot tub, or grabbing sneaky snooze amongst the jasmine in the pagoda. There are endless mini adventures to enjoy: crabbing, fishing or exploring the woodland and orchard where you are encouraged to build dens and pick plums, apples and cherries. The Rance is a unique setting 'entre terre et mer', where countryside and sea meet, it is a protected natural site with thriving flocks of egrets and hugely varied wildlife including seals, kingfishers, deer, owls and woodpeckers.
If you do venture further afield, dozens of spectacular sandy beaches await, along with the belle époque town of Dinard with its shops, restaurants, markets and picturesque 'Moonlight Walk', the walled citadel of St Malo steeped in history and 'corsaire' pirate adventures, the charming medieval town of Dinan, foodie heaven Cancale and world heritage site The Mont St Michel.
Step out of the front gate and you join the incredibly beautiful GR34 Sentier des Douaniers coastal path along its best kept secret; the 'bords de Rance' stretch takes you though endless sheltered coves, secluded hamlets and pretty villages. It's a paradise for hiking, trail running, and cycling with limitless routes on the doorstep.
